The Voice After Life team consists of 6 women who were brought together by a vision. These women volunteer their free time to this cause all while managing their professional careers and personal lives. The team has a shared passion for our mission and a relentless drive to achieve our goals.

Valerie Alvarez

Founder & CEO

 

Valerie brings over 12 years of experience within the Death Industry. Valerie graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, minor in Forensic Science. Her earliest moments in the industry began during her undergraduate years at Baylor University. Valerie joined a Forensic Anthropology Field School down at the Texas/ Mexico border. Grave exhumations were done in pauper cemeteries where unidentified individuals were buried. They then collected DNA to enter into a data base with the hopes of repatriating them with their families. She worked the following semester as a Bones Lab Assistant processing, cataloging and photographing skeletal remains. In 2014 Valerie was employed at the local government level as a Medicolegal Death Investigator. During her career Valerie has investigated thousands of deaths and worked with even more families to help bring closure and understanding during these difficult times. In 2021 Valerie onboarded with the US Department of Health and Human Services/ Disaster Mortuary Response Team (DMORT) as a Medical Investigator. In September 2022 Valerie became a Board Certified Medicolegal Death Investigator through the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators (ABMDI). In 2023 Valerie was able to successfully locate family for a 19 yr old Cold Case, she was able to locate family on both maternal and paternal sides and get DNA confirmation of kinship. Valerie's professional affiliations include active memberships with The National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME) and The International Association of Medical Examiners and Coroners (IACME) she is also Co-Founder of a local project for Unidentified Individuals. Valerie on her own time sits on a Speakers Bureau for her local community. She guests speaks for high school and college students all over Texas and she partners with Law Enforcement Agencies to explain the Role of the Medical Examiner Office and Death Investigators. In her free time Valerie enjoys thrifting, plants and spending quality time with family and friends.

Kaylin Gravatt
Lead Investigator

 Kaylin graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Anthropology, minor in Forensic Science from Baylor University. Kaylin's experience in the death industry began during her undergraduate years at Baylor University. Kaylin attended two field schools in which unidentified remains were exhumed at the Texas/Mexico border. Those remains were examined, catalogued and documented in hopes of repatriating them with their families through DNA analysis. Kaylin has worked at the local government level as a Certified Medicolegal Death Investigator for over 5 years. Kaylin excels in her role and notably has an eye for detail. Kaylin provides excellent report writing skills, data analysis and an empathetic personality which connects with families on a personal level. In Kaylin's free time she loves spending time with her family, drawing and painting

Austin Chapman
Investigator
​
Austin graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Anthropology, minor in Forensic Science from Baylor University. Austin's experience in the field began as an Autopsy technician at the local government level and she remained in that role for over 3 years. Austin has since transitioned in the field and is a Medicolegal Death Investigator. Austin's experiences have helped her develop a deep understanding of the intricacies of the field. Her medical knowledge and ability to help families understand and process results of postmortem examinations is invaluable. Austin is a Professional Member of the National Association of Forensic Autopsy Technicians (NAFAT) and  on her own time guests speaks for High School and College students on the roles of an Autopsy Technician and a Death Investigator. In her free time Austin enjoys visiting with her family and photography.

Reagan Archer
Investigator
​
Reagan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Anthropology, minor in Criminology from the University of Arkansas. Reagan has worked at the local government level as an Autopsy technician for over 2 years. During her career Reagan has assisted on over 800 cases. Reagan serves as a member of the local Medical Reserve Corp, she is a Forensic Board Member of the National Association of Forensic Autopsy Technicians (NAFAT) and she is a co-founder for a local project for Unidentified Persons. Reagan has a published paper with NAFAT discussing how to sex, age and determine a possible identification for human skeletal remains. Reagan has a passion for aiding in the identification process of human skeletal remains and unidentified individuals at medical examiner’s offices. Reagan on her own time guests speaks for High School and College students as well as Local Law Enforcement on the role of an Autopsy Technician. In her free time Reagan enjoys hunting, hiking, baking and spending time with her pup Ozzy!

Wendy Hinojosa Vazquez
Investigator- Foreign Affairs

Wendy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Baylor University. Wendy's experience is in the field of Case Management and Claims. Wendy has worked in a capacity utilizing investigative software to locate and find individuals to determine potential fraudulent activities. She handles high risk coverage issues,  settlement claims with clients attorneys, maintains a heavy caseload and provides information/testimony for legal consultations and associated court hearings. Wendy serves as the foreign affairs liaison for the Voice After Life and will handle all out of country cases partnering with various Consulate Offices throughout the United States. In her free time Wendy enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Saphiana Zamora
Media Relations and Communications​

Saphiana graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism/ Public Relations from Baylor University. Saphiana works as an Account Coordinator and specializes in Non-Profit Fundraiser Marketing, Digital Marketing and Brand Development. Saphiana will serve as head of Media Relations/ Communications and Client Acquisition for The Voice After Life. Saphiana excels in creating, building and maintaining social media presence as well as being able to identify trends, industry insights and understanding search analytics. Saphiana has a history serving in leadership roles in various organizations and has a heart for client relations. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family. â€‹
